Something not working, or a rating that looks wrong? Email us at support@swellmates.app and we’ll get back to you.
How the ratings work
Every hour gets a rating built for your level. It weighs wave size for your level the most, then the wind (glassy or offshore is good, onshore is bad), then the swell period (longer is cleaner). The app shows the result as Go, Maybe or Skip it. Waves that are too big for your level are never rated as good.
You can change your level any time in Settings, and every rating updates.
Alerts
Alerts need Swellmates Pro. Open a spot, tap Tell me when it’s good, and choose Days worth going, Good days or Great days only. You get one notification per good day, and a follow-up if the forecast drops.
Not getting alerts? Check that notifications are on for Swellmates in iOS Settings → Notifications.

Stay safe
Ratings are a guide, not a guarantee. Conditions change fast and every break has its own hazards: rips, rocks and currents. Check the water yourself and never surf beyond your ability.
